Qualifications

To be a skilled renewable installation engineer you need to be registered in many emerging areas: Solar Hot Water Systems, Heat Pumps (Ground & Air), Domestic Wind turbines, Rainwater Harvesting, Grey-water recycling. The qualifications you receive are nationally recognised, as an approved installer you will be eligible to join the appropriate approved grants scheme such as the Micro-generation Certification Scheme supported by DECC. It is worth remembering, specific manufacturer courses may be beneficial but they may not entitle the person to join a grant scheme – due to the fact certain renewable energy manufacturer courses tend to be aimed at single products and not generic.

Recognised qualifications are highly regarded by employers throughout the industry and are often required as standard in order to be offered a position in a company. Below are some of the qualifications you will be working towards on your Domestic Renewable Energy Engineer course;

City & Guilds 6035 Level 2 Diploma in Plumbing Studies

Part P Defined Scope
BPEC – Installation, Service and Maintenance of Domestic Unvented Hot Water Systems
BPEC – Installation and Maintenance of Solar Hot Water Systems
BPEC – Installation and Maintenance of Heat Pump Systems (Non-Refrigerant Systems)
BPEC – Certification in Underfloor Heating
BPEC – Certificate in Rainwater Harvesting & Greywater Recycling

Welding: Mr Adam Fearon
Tutor is a fantastic teacher, knows his stuff and can explain everything clearly. The place itself is well kitted out and had everything I needed to complete the course. After completing week 7 on the third day, I was able to practise my skills making whatever I wanted, which was good. Even moved on to welding Aluminium.
